France
The association CIDEM starts its referendum campaign:
from Saturday 2nd of April until Friday 29th, a buss
will tour around France, informing the French population
about the history of the European integration as well as
the main issues of the Constitutional treaties. The
busses are full of young, enthusiastic Europeans, which
can spread the European motivation to theirs
fellow-patriots.
Denmark
According to a recent analysis of the Danish Institute
for International Studies (DIIS), 44% of the population
are in favour of the constitution while 30% are against
it and 26% have not yet make up their mind. The Danish
people will vote on 27th of September.
Netherlands
In case of a negative French vote, the Dutch referendum,
fixed for the 1st of June, could be taken out of the
calendar.
Czech
Republic
“What is good for Europe is good for the Czech
Republic”, that is the conclusion of a coming-together
of several Czech intellectuals and politicians, invited
by the former President of the Republic Vaclav Havel.
The Czech Republic has not yet decided the mode of
ratification.
