Discover the European Constitution

What is the European Constitution? What are its origins? Why is it vital and why is its ratification so important? in which way does the Constitution tackles high important social issues? According to which values and objectives have Europeans decided to unify? How does the Constitution strengthen democracy in Europe, and what are the fundamental rights that its content  provides to European citizenship? Why will its institutions be more efficient, and why will its decisions bear more legitimacy? What purpose will the Constitution really serve? Which policies will it make it possible to implement on social, economic and security levels,  as well as in terms of the Union's influence across the world?

Answers must be provided to the many questions posed by European citizens especially since a great number of them are being called upon to vote on the European Constitution.

This chapter provides you with presentation sheets on the Constitution focusing on the three following themes:

A Constitution for the Citizens of Europe
Reformed Institutions
Which policies for the European Union?
